A man believed to be in his late 30s is battling for his life at the Kasoa Polyclinic after he was allegedly beaten by a mob for stealing refrigerator parts at Kasoa Walantu Junction in the Awutu Senya East Municipality.
According to reports, he was caught removing the motor of a refrigerator that had been brought to a repair shop.
Sylvester Awugya, the shop owner said his shop had recently recorded several theft incidents, which heightened the mobs suspicions that the suspect who was caught red-handed could be behind the past thefts.
Police officers are said to have intervened, rescued the suspect from the mob and rushed him to the Kasoa polyclinic, where he is receiving treatment.
