A 'fraud boy' has been set ablaze for allegedly beheading a 9-year-old boy at Assin Breku in the Central Region.
The assailant known as Asuo is reported to have also chopped off the hands of the little boy.
According to reports, a certain woman is said to have spotted a human hand in a sack which Asuo was holding.
The woman is said to have raised alarm which drew the entire community to the scene to witness the situation.
A search was then launched to confirm if l murder had been committed in the area. This led the residents to a path where the little boy's lifeless body was lying in a pool of blood without his hand heightening suspicions that Asuo had murdered him.
The agitated mob is reported to have stormed Asuo's home where they found his bedsheet and one of his t-shirts stained with blood.
The mob is reported to have lynched the suspect and set his body ablaze before police officers arrived.
If Asuo indeed committed the gruesome act, the community's action is naturally understandable. But they should have situated their anger within the armbit of the law. As it stands now, the perpetrators could go to prison for life.
